We would like to thank Geoff March of Williams Radio and Electrical for providing a mailing address for the Folkestone Leas Lifts Appeal and for Friends of the Leas Lift. Geoff's business keeps him extremely busy, and in order not to impose unreasonably on his generosity we have set up an alternate address for Royal Mail deliveries, and hope soon to provide additional mail drop facilities for mail delivered by hand that will be more convenient if Folkestone town centre is difficult for you to reach.
We badly need more offers of practical help like this, and especially so from people who have the range of skills (and time to spare) that we need on the management team to be able to present a proposition to the Lift's owner that will persuade them to allow us to get it running again without avoidable delay.
We also need people who are willing to help with routine administration - some of which could equally well be done from home by people who are keen to see these almost unique Victorian water-balance gravity-powered lifts running regularly again, but who aren't necessarily located in the Folkestone area.
Though we may not achieve our aims it is support like this that makes it possible to do so. Our current need is members, members with administrative skills, computers on broadband who can spare a few hours a week researching, creating a central data base, write small articles for Twitter and Facebook, letters and mail shots. We also need people experienced in Joomla Software, PHP and MySql to help maintain and keep the website running
